Badass Ravi Kumar Review
“Kundali mein shani, ghee ke saath honey aur Ravi Kumar se dushmani sehat ke liye haanikarak ho sakti”, well this is how you define when Ravi Kumar enters in his badass style.
The film kickstarts with the revival of the retro era where you don’t have to just think about anything but just be in the story. The powerful antagonist Prabhu Deva as Carlos Pedro Panther is behind a micro reel which has all the secrets of India. To catch him enters Badass Ravi Kumar played by Himesh, who is a baddie character and will do everything in love for his country. The story also has a twist as he is stuck in a love triangle. And has subconscious thoughts about his part, which is another story that will connect to the plot at the end.
In a way, the films give you Hollywood feels as Himesh Reshammiya rules the silver screen with his charismatic ‘sigma male’ character. Every time you watch him, he will remind you of Keanu Reeves from John Wick in his action avatar & heavy dialogues. In the musical action era of the 80’s what keeps the story relevant as the climax of the film will blow your mind. Will he be successful in the heist task? Will he be able to beat six villains in the story with his past plot twist? Whatever may be the case, ‘Kasam Taj Mahal ki… Ravi Kumar se bachna mushkil hu nahi namkin hai.
What Works:
Himesh stuns with intense sequences and leaves behind Animal and Fateh when it comes to power-packed action. The memorable dialogues bring back the masala charm of classic retro films. What will keep you at the edge of your seat is the suspenseful plot and Ravi Kumar’s obsessive love story keeps viewers intrigued with twists and surprises. Last but not least, the catchy tracks such as Dil Ke Taj Mahal Meinn, Tandoori Days, and Hookstep Hookah Bar , Tere Pyaar Mein offer a nostalgic vibe.
What Doesn’t Work:
The visual effects lack polish and detract from key scenes. The film could benefit from tighter editing, as certain segments feel stretched. The retro music is good but the tracks interrupt the narrative flow at times.
Technical Analysis:
Director Keith Gomes, known for Kick and Sex Likes and Stories, brings a bold cinematic vision, though execution falters slightly in pacing and visual consistency. He is known for Kick, Sex Likes and Stories that have come up with something never seen before.
Star Performances:
Talking about the performers, Himesh Reshammiya shines as the fierce and passionate Ravi Kumar. While Prabhu Deva as Carlos Pedro Panther adds intrigue to his character and look, for the first time you will see him in a different avatar.
On the other hand, Kirti Kulhari as Laila delivers a confident performance, while Simona J plays Ravi’s love interesting which perfectly matches with the storyline. The promising face really keep you engaded with the story. Other supporting characters such as Rajesh Sharma, Sunny Leone, Saurabh Sachdeva, Johnny Lever, Manish Wadhwa and Sanjay Mishra add comic and dramatic relief.
Conclusion:
Overall, Badass Ravi Kumar is an entertaining ride packed with action, powerful dialogues, and vibrant music. Despite a few technical flaws, it offers a nostalgic masala experience that will appeal to Himesh Reshammiya fans and action enthusiasts alike.
